The United States State Department invited and sponsored the
trip of a history professor of Silliman University to two conferences
held
recently in California and Arizona, a press release from SU said.
Prof. Regan Jomao-as attended the 23rd National
Association of Graduate Admissions Professionals Annual Conference in San
Francisco, California, April 21 to 24 and the Social media Seminar April 24 to
29 in Flagstaff, Arizona.
The conference that had participants coming from different
countries, offered opportunities for Jomao-as to network other academic
professionals in the field, learn new approaches to graduate enrollment
management, and exchange creative ideas. Jomao-as is the coordinator of the
graduate program in history of History and Political Science Department.
He is concurrently co-adviser at the Philippine-American
Educational Foundation/Education USA satellite advising center located at the
Robert B. and Metta J. Silliman Library, the press release said.
Best 50 in Business
Meanwhile, the president of the Silliman University Alumni
Association of New York-NewJersey Chapter is the only Filipino included on list
of “Best 50 Women in Business” of the New Jersey-based business publication,
NJBIZ, the press release said.
NJBIZ, a publication of the New Jersey Business Industry
Association, honors 50 of New Jersey’s most accomplished women who hold
significant decision-making influence asowner, partner, or senior executive in
a for-profit organization.
Dely Po Go is a graduate of SU with a degree of Bachelor of
Science in Nursing in 1978. She completed her Master of Scince in Nursing
degree, summa cum laude at Fairleigh Dickinson University in New Jersey, and is
currently pursuing her post-graduate degree in nursing at the same university.
Go is the owner and president of Nursing Network, LLC, a
healthcare services company and the CEO of AVTECH Institute and Allied Health,
a school for Licensed Practical Nursing. She also sits as trustee of Bridges to
success, a community service for the homeless, the press release said. |
