Hotel To Rise In City Print
Written by JG,The Visayan Daily Star

An 80-room hotel is expected to rise next year at the Dumaguete Business Park, where Robinsons and Teletech are located, in Dumaguete City, Mayor-elect Manuel Sagarbarria, said.

The hotel that will be built on a two-hectare lot near Robinsons will be called GO-hotel, after the Gokongwei family. Sagarbarria said that once business has the trust and confidence of the leadership, it is willing to take a calculated risk.

Operations of the hotel will be patterned after that of an airline company where booking is through the internet. Aside from jobs, construction of the 80-room hotel is expected to give opportunities for livelihood, as well as the labor force.

Sagarbarria  said he foresees Dumaguete as a booming city in the next few years, with his platform of government dubbed “politics of industry and opportunity”. He is the author of the “First-Mover Incentive Ordinance,” and the “Investment Code” of  Dumaguete City.
