| NORSU Produces 2 New Lawyers |

Negros Oriental State University has also produced two new
lawyers from its first batch of graduates of the College of Law. NORSU
President Sojor announced lawyer Maria Theresa V. Rizon, a resident of Bayawan
City, as successful bar examinees of 2009.
Carbo is a bookkeeper at the Landbank of the Philippines in Bayawan City, and teaches part time at
NORSU Bayawan/Sta. Catalina Campus. Rizon is an alumna of the then Silliman
University School of Communication and is currently secretary of the
Sangguniang Panlungsod in Guihulngan.
Judge Temistocles Diez, former dean of the NORSU College of
Law and current Dean Lawyer Pearl S. Estacion said they are very happy of the
results of the first batch of Law graduates.
Five graduates took the Bar examinations in September last
year. Dr. Sojor said that the State University, being a general-comprehensive
University is mandated by its Charter, Republic Act 9299, Section 3 to offer
Law among others.
NORSU’s passing average is pegged at 40 percent; while the
national passing average is 24.58 percent of the total examinees. |
