Twenty elementary school teachers from the identified disparity areas under the Sixth Country Programme for Children in Negros Oriental, complete a two-day course on developing communication plans on education, with emphasis on promoting children’s rights, recently. During the workshop, the teachers drew up communication plans, as well as developed key messages that will serve as a springboard for the production of information, education and communication materials. IEC materials will be distributed in support to the implementation of information campaign activities, outlined by the workshop participants in their communication plans in their areas. The communication activities identified by the teacher are aimed at addressing the most extensive problems concerning children faced by the education sector in the disparity areas such as child labor, leading to high drop-out rates. The 10 identified disparity areas under CPC-6 this year are East Balabag, Valencia; Sacsac, Bacong; Salag Siaton; Damig, Kalamtukan, Bayawan City; Calinawan, Enruque Villanueva, Sibulan; Malongcay Dacu, Dauin; Bio-os, Amlan; Luca, Tanjay City; Sacsac, Manjuyod; and Hincacpan, Guihulngan. |
