TANJAY CITY – Dec. 6, 2009 at 2 pm at Plaza Central School Quadrangle, a program will formally close the four-month skills training program which showcased the opportunity given and excellent instruction extended by a team of trainers from the Negros Oriental State University to the teaching and non-teaching personnel of the Department of Education City Division here. In coordination with the DepEd Tanjay City Division, NORSU conducted a multi-disciplinary training program which was formally launched Aug. 1st, 2009 at Osmeña Park here in Tanjay. The launching was highlighted by the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement between NORSU President Dr. Henry A. Sojor, and OIC Schools Division Supt. Dr. Profiteza S. Lim. The enrichment Training Program extension focused on the various skills such as values education, public speaking, choir conducting, drum & bugle corps, handicrafts, baking and cake decoration, culinary arts, driving and troubleshooting, landscaping and room restructuring and computer literacy. The team experts from the NORSU Extension was headed by its coordinator, Dr. Libertine de Guzman. This is not the first time the NORSU administration and staff extended their expertise to the Tanjay City Division Personnel. A Memorandum of Agreement on a School-Based Training Program was once signed on Nov. 14, 2007 between DepEd’s Dr. Lim and Dr. Peter T. Dayot, NORSU vice president for Planning Research Extension & International Linkages. |
