Negros Oriental Gov.Agustin Perdices on Monday met with provincial officials and five town
mayors where farm-to-market roads amounting to P15 million shall be constructed
to prevent the funding allocation from being returned to the national
government.
Dumaguete City ranked 10th at the awarding
ceremony of groups led by the Department of Trade and Industry held June 22 at
Cebu Business Park Hotel, Cebu City and the plaque of recognition was received
by DTI Provincial Director Javier Fortunato.
Dumaguete is now in the list of the Top 10 best outsourcing
locations in the country. Already a current host to several call centers and
other business process outsourcing companies, Dumaguete is projected to cash in
on the estimated $ 1.2 billion in BPO revenues, bringing the industry’s total
earnings to $ 9 billion in 2010 from $ 7.2 billion last year.
The Negros Oriental Investment Promotion Center (NOIPC) was
awarded Most Supportive OTOP Partner Organization for the Visayas besting other
nominees from Region 6 & 8. The awarding ceremonies were held during the
National OTOP Congroess Awards last March 12, 2010 at the Philippine Trade and
Training Center, Pasay City.
Negros Oriental business have lauded the performance of
Revenue Districy Officer Cresencio Agad for increasing tax collections by 32.53
percent for January and February.
